The rustle of leaves in the wind becomes a universe, rendering the spirit of Arte Povera and its embrace of nature as art. Inspired by the work of Giuseppe Penone, Vento is a Jacquard weave of seven yarns, including a ply of silk wool and alpaca merino wool over a ground of multi-felted merino.
Inspired by the Italian movement of the 1960s, Arte Povera is a meditation on voice—how ordinary materials become expressive through care, intention, and collaboration. Created with Merida Studio, the series reflects Sylvie Johnson’s belief that meaning is never fixed: each limited-edition piece is an evolving conversation between artist, material, and maker. Beauty is found not only in the final form, but in the act of making itself.
