Made for the life of your home

Woven from 100% natural yarns, Merida rugs are naturally durable and safe for the home environment. Organic fibers like wool, linen, and mohair are naturally resistant to stains and odors, and surprisingly easy to clean. For best results, vacuum regularly using a hose attachment or floor setting, and spot-treat stains with mild soap and water—not chemical solutions. With minimal care, your rug will hold its natural beauty for decades to come.

Simple Cleaning Tips

  • Vacuum Frequently

Regular vacuuming will keep dirt from settling and make cleaning easier over time. For best results, use a hose attachment or a floor setting and avoid brush rollers that can pull fibers.

We recommend a canister vacuum without the use of the rotating turbo brush (e.g. Miele Powerline vacuums).

  • Get to Spills Right Away

When accidents happen, blot (don’t rub) the area immediately with a clean, absorbent white cloth or towel. The sooner you get to it the less chance the stain will penetrate.

  • Treat Stains with Mild Soap and Water

Put down the chemical spray! A mixture of mild, unscented soap and warm water will get out 90% of typical household stains.

How to treat a rug stain with soap and water:

  • In a small bowl, mix a small amount of mild, unscented soap in warm water.
  • Dampen a clean, absorbent cloth in the soap and water solution then dab the stain a few times, pressing down and up with the cloth. Do not rub as it might spread the stain. Rinse the cloth, ring it out, and repeat.

  • Continue dabbing the stain until the cloth comes up clear, then using a dry towel dab the spot to pick up excess moisture.
