Lacero

2022

The gestural slash paintings of Argentinian artist Lucio Fontana blurred the lines between painting and sculpture. Lacero makes a conceptual statement with a graphic motif of plied yarns against contrasting fields of multi-felted merino and undyed wool.

Inspired by the Italian movement of the 1960s, Arte Povera is a meditation on voice—how ordinary materials become expressive through care, intention, and collaboration. Created with Merida Studio, the series reflects Sylvie Johnson’s belief that meaning is never fixed: each limited-edition piece is an evolving conversation between artist, material, and maker. Beauty is found not only in the final form, but in the act of making itself.

Living Art

Arte Povera evolved a new visual language that was experiential, ever-changing, and alive to the senses. Each Atelier rug is an expression of living art, a one-of-a-kind textile woven by artisans and made to be touched.
