Inspired by the conceptual igloos of Arte Povera artist Mario Merz, Aero plays with shadow and perspective to create an elegant centerpiece tufted with layers of rich mohair and mouliné yarn combined with crimped wool, silk wool, and multi-felted merino.
Inspired by the Italian movement of the 1960s, Arte Povera is a meditation on voice—how ordinary materials become expressive through care, intention, and collaboration. Created with Merida Studio, the series reflects Sylvie Johnson’s belief that meaning is never fixed: each limited-edition piece is an evolving conversation between artist, material, and maker. Beauty is found not only in the final form, but in the act of making itself.
