Passi takes inspiration from Turin-born Giorgio Griffa, an artist renowned for painting abstract forms that are fragmented or interrupted, like an unfinished sentence. Passi takes inspiration from Griffa, employing a motif of geometric shapes and broken lines, tufted with contrasting textures of wool and mouliné yarn, with glints of plied silk wool and linen.
This collection elevates textiles to living art. Inspired by Arte Povera, a Post-War Italian art movement that used simple materials to create works of artistic expression, each rug is an homage to these visionary artists—transcending the boundaries between art and nature, artist and artisan.
The Atelier collection is a series of limited-edition pieces created and designed by Sylvie Johnson and the Merida team.
