How to treat a rug stain with soap and water:
- In a small bowl, mix a small amount of mild, unscented soap in warm water.
-
Dampen a clean, absorbent cloth in the soap and water solution then dab the stain a few times, pressing down and up with the cloth. Do not rub as it might spread the stain. Rinse the cloth, ring it out, and repeat.
- Continue dabbing the stain until the cloth comes up clear, then using a dry towel dab the spot to pick up excess moisture.
