Lines of varying lengths create a visual conversation of textures and tones. Inspired by the paintings of abstract expressionist Barnett Newman, Parlare is an abstract dobby design that weaves silk wool with multi-felted merino and mouliné on a soothing ground of thin-felted wool.
Inspired by the Italian movement of the 1960s, Arte Povera is a meditation on voice—how ordinary materials become expressive through care, intention, and collaboration. Created with Merida Studio, the series reflects Sylvie Johnson’s belief that meaning is never fixed: each limited-edition piece is an evolving conversation between artist, material, and maker. Beauty is found not only in the final form, but in the act of making itself.
